Uppsala University Gender equality committee
The University Board and the Vice-Chancellor bear the overall responsibility for the pursuit of a target-oriented gender equality work. The gender equality work is conducted in accordance with the central gender eqaulity plan.
The committee chair is the Gender Equality Commissioner, who is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor. The committee consists of representatives of the University activities as well as representatives of Staff Unions and Student Unions. The mandate period for the committee is three years.
The committee is commissioned to:
- secure gender equality between the sexes
- secure equality relating to sexual orientation and transgender identity and transgender expressions
- initiate and prepare gender equality matters of overall relevance to the University
- prepare three-year gender equality plans
- yearly evaluate the University's gender equality work
